Our Experiences: The country is a huge steppe land. Grass plains and grass hills with almost no trees. The natives live in tents (Yurts) with their horses, they ride horses and they eat horses. It is funny to think how the people from this country has conquered the world´s largest empire, during the middle ages. We have stayed in a traditional Yurt, but only the outside construction seemed a real tent. The interior had 5 stars luxury facilities. (This was the HS Khan hotel near Ulaanbaatar which we recommend ). The real Yurt with the same size of our room would home a huge family and several animals. Besides the life on the grass we also went to the Terelj National Park. The landscape wth a valley between the mountains is great. And it has trees! The capital itself doesn´t offer many tourist attractions.
Hotels we love and recommend: HS Khan ( Near Ulaanbaatar )
