Our Experiences: Bolivia is a poor country not yet well prepared for tourism. The unusual extreme altitude of a great portion of the land played a main role for our curiosity. The capital La Paz is the highest capital in the woorld at 3,700m above the sea level; The neighboring city of El Alto is a ever growing one-million inhabitants city standing at a stratospheric altitude of 4,150m. The people who lives in this altitude are biologicalywell adapted. ( Not our case) They are all local Amerinds with low stature, a characteristic that may compensate their body efforts to pump oxygen. Santa Cruz de La Sierra is the pulsing heart of Bolivia´s economiy and the most developed city with nice parks, restaurants and hotels.
Hotels we love and recommend: Marriott ( Santa Cruz de la Sierra)
