When to go: Summer and late Spring
Where to go: Belgrade and Novisad
Downside: Remaining signs of recent war and some tourist traps
Our Experiences: Belgrade is not a beautiful city at all. One of the main tourist attractions is a war bombed downtown building, with a huge bomb explosion hole in one of the sides. That illustrates our opinion well. The kalemegdan old city was the most interesting site for us. Standing on a hill top in the confluence of the Sava river into the Danube, there is an old fortress and the ruins of Singidunun ( Roman city ) . The city of Novisad, in Vojvodina region (North ) is prettier and more attractive.
Hotels we love and recommend: Hyatt ( Belgrade )
