Downside: The food is not very good. ( If you are looking for good restaurants, then go to the neighbours Peru or Argentina)
Our Experiences: The best part of Chile is visiting the Winelands in October and skiing in july. Santiago doesn´t offer any worth tourist attractions and the coastal city of Viña del Mar is just ok. We drove a car through the wine producing valleys and up to Aconcagua National Park. Mount Aconcagua is the world´s highest mountain outside Asia. The country´s wine are excellent but not the food. This is one of the reasons why every tourist brings home lots of bottles.
