When to go:  Spring

Where to go:  Cape Town, The Winelands, Hermanus / Cape Agulhas and Johannesburg (*)

Downside:  Traces of the violent past racism.

Our Experiences:  Capetown is a nice city with beautiful views from the famous Table Mountain. We have visited many very nice places in Western Cape province, driving from Cape Town: Stellenbosh and Paarl on the mountains (Winelands) where there are nice restaurants and good wine producers. The city of Hermanus, to see the Whales giving birth very close from the seashore. The iconic Cape Agulhas which is the southernmost point of Africa and where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean.  But we also went to Johannesburg (*), a city that we don´t recommend at all.  There is a lot of racism feeling still present for the South African people due to the recent past suffering they have lived and, as a tourist you may not be welcome.

Hotels we love and recommend:  The Marine ( Hermanus ) and Marriott (Cape Town)
