Country:  Myanmar

Highlights:  Gastronomy ★★,  Art / Museums ★,  Historical sites ★★★,  Natural Beauty ★,  Shopping 0;  Sports/Adventure★ ,  Geographic extremes ★,  Glamour ★

When to go:   From December to March, the dry season.

Where to go:  Yangon, Bagan and Bago

Downside:  Poor roads and some lack of freedom.

Our Experiences:  Myanmar was under an extreme autocratic government and almost no tourism was possible. Recently the country has opened its doors and began a friendly adaptation to modernity. Yangon is now quite cosmopolitan and developed, but outside in the country we could see lots of poverty and lack of infrastructure. There are thousands beautiful Temples and Stupas all around the land. The huge Sleeping Buda in the city of Bago (Ancient Pegu Kingdom ) was the most impressive in our opinion.

Hotels we love and recommend:  Wyndham – Yangon
