When to go:  Spring or Autumn

Where to go:  Damascus

Downside:  A terrible war still  going on

Our Experiences:  When we went to Damascus, the war hasn´t yet begun, but there were some issues showing what was about to come. We only made a day tour through the walled city. Damascus is one of the world´s oldest continuously inhabited city ( Along with Byblos in Lebanon a Jericho in Palestine ).  There are many living Roman Ruins and nice Mosques. We wished to go also to Palmyra, but there were already some tensions in the region.  (Now  Palmyra is half destroyed by religion extremists. So sad!)
