Maybe you have been fooled by an Instagram post with turquoise waters in Bali. Or maybe you are planning a trip to Thailand looking for the world´s best beach. If so, then you are going the wrong way! God created the beaches and the nerds in Silicon Valley created the image filters. The tourism industry then joined both ends the make you travel as far as possible searching for that perfect beach. Since then, thousands of tourists are being driven to trap greenish muddy waters remote beaches throughout the world, because they all looked like a paradise on the teaser.
How to avoid image filter traps?
Well, after visiting more than 300 hundred beaches in 100+ countries (including 30 Island in the Caribbean, 16 in the Pacific Ocean, 9 in the Indic Ocean and 18 in the Mediterranean Sea) , we can say that we have one of the world´s best tourist experiences concerning beaches. Let´s see some tips:
1) How to look for nice beaches ? First of all, never, ever, ever choose your destination from the Instagram. Instagram is the image filters paradise. People can change the color of anything they want and easily fool you. Sea waters is the world´s #1 color filter target. It is useless to decide your travel destination from there. Check the internet instead. Preferable watch a video (not a picture) where this is more difficult to apply filters. Secondly, the more naïve is the video, probably the more accurate will be the colors. If you only find pictures and not videos, look for the less attractive picture you may found from the place you are looking for. This will be probably reflecting the truth. Avoid hotel ads or any kind of ads. Always choose regular tourist images and videos.
2) Where to go then? The world´s best beaches are not in Asia. An exception apply for the Maldives, where the water are truly impressive. Thailand has good beaches, but much far from the top list. Bali is not even a beach destination as the beaches are simply ugly. The Pacific Ocean, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean are the home of the Best Beaches. Our top ranked beaches are respectively Bora Bora ( Best in the Pacific ); Anse Lazio ( Best in the Indian Ocean) Trunk Bay ( Best in the Caribbean) and Nissi Beach ( Best in the Mediterranean). The Atlantic Ocean stands behind and there are no significant beautiful beaches to stand on the top list. We have ranked the best beaches and the best Islands in this link. Check our pictures as we use no filters.
